Today I’m finishing up round two of the three round Mullen Protocol and get to take a break next week again. This time around I’m only doing one single S.boulardii capsule a day instead of two in case that caused my reaction last break week. Only one more round to go on this treatment protocol and then I retest in 3 weeks. Overall my gut has been pretty stable this past week and I’m eating somewhat high on the FODMAP chart. The only things I’m really avoiding at the moment are onions and garlic, I’m eating most other non-nightshade veggies and quite a bit of fruits even trying some apple which seemed OK in small amounts.
My biggest issue right now is my weight which has been steadily dropping since I started the CandiBactin back in March and has continued to drop while I’m on this current protocol. I had been steadily increasing since last summer and went from 150 this time last year up to 158 in December. I just assumed I’d keep going up or at least stay steady. I did stay very steady around 156-157 for several months and then starting in March it started dropping. I stabilized around 154 in March and so far in April have dropped back down into the 152-153 range for an average. This is frustrating and I’m eating well over 3000 calories a day, added digestive enzymes, added in white rice, am eating a ton more carbs and still I’m dropping. I’m back to the point of not really being able to afford to lose much more weight so I’ve stopped running and have cut way back on my activity again in an attempt to conserve calories. I’m hoping it is just that my normal flora are totally jacked up from all the organ oil and once I stop this that I’ll rebuild my microbiome and start putting some weight on again.
Associated with this is my waking up every night about 4 hours after I fall asleep and having a hard time getting back to sleep many nights. This probably isn’t helping with keeping my weight steady and maybe is related. Both could be signs of adrenal or thyroid issues and we are running some tests to see what is going on. I’m waiting for the results from the latest autoimmune panel which hopefully will be back next week and I’m going to be doing some blood work next week looking at metabolic panel as well as lipids and B6 levels which I just need to monitor. I’m also going to be doing an adrenal test and anther stool test to see if I have an adrenal issues waking me up and to see if my blastocystis friend is still there or not. In the meantime I need to keep pumping weight and calories to see if I can turn this downward trend back around.
