About to mix it up

candibactinI had my follow up call with Dr. Keller today about my test results.   While not my lowest numbers ever this was in a few ways my best test in that I did not have an early peak like previous low tests and it had a very typical SIBO curve to it instead of multiple spikes in the graph.   So, what to do next.  She agreed with my basic thought that we had to mix it up a bit and that maybe the AlliMed/Neem/Berberine combo I’ve been doing is only going to get us so far.  I am going to continue on that combo for another 25 days giving me a total of 30 days on it but then I’m going to try a new protocol.  This one comes from the John Hopkins study and uses Metagenics CandiBactin-AR and -BR.  This uses Berberine again but combines it with Thyme and Oregano Essential Oils in the -AR blend.  I’ll do 2 pills each/2x a day with meals for 15 days.  Then I’ll retest around the end of March.   Depending on the outcome then it may mean going to the larger John Hopkins Protocol and using Biotics Research products A.D.P. (Oregano oil), Berberine HCL, FC-Cidal and Dysbiocide (the best named gut product ever).

One other change is that I added NAC a week or so ago since I could not handle the InterFase that I tried as a biofilm buster.  I’m to continue with the NAC and see if that helps.  It also can help you keep from getting the flu so not a bad thing to be taking this time of year.

We then talked probiotics.  I know my colon flora is a bit off from the test I had in September, I’m sure it is in worse shape now given all the herbal antibiotics I’ve pumped down since then.   I was thinking of Prescript Assist but she recommended I try Klaire Labs Ther-Biotic Complete which uses their InTactic technology to try to get the microbes all the way through the stomach and SI into the colon where they belong.   I’m not going to add this right away but may try it in a few weeks.

She also suggested I get a Cyrex Array #10 blood panel run to see what all I’m really allergic to.  I was going to do the Array #4 for gluten cross-reactivity but this one is more complete and would let me know what I am really able to eat w/o causing more autoimmune damage to my system.

So, my next six weeks are set.  Stick to my diet, stick to my protocol and retest near the end of March and go from there.   I am hoping that this third low test will not go back up like previous ones have and that I can continue the trend towards clearing this stuff.
