Today we started our backpacking leg of the trip, a two-day trip to Upper Two Medicine Lake. The hike to the upper lake is 5 miles long and we decided to add a 4.5 mile non-pack hike to No Name Lake. Here is our route for the day...
The
view on the hike in was pretty much dominated by this peak, Sinopah Mtn. at the
head of the main Two Medicine Lake. Looking behind us showed
the Two Medicine Valley and lots of Glacier bear grass...
As we gained more altitude you could look back and see Two Medicine Lake which we were leaving behind.
We arrived to Upper Two Medicine, set up camp, and hung our food (and stove, and dishes, ...) before taking some time off to go fishing in the lake and in Two Medicine Creek. Here's the view of the lake from our campsite...
Below is one of the little brookies I was catching in the outflow of the lake...
We hung out at camp a bit then took our pack tops and headed for No Name Lake which was another 4.5 mile round-trip from our Upper Two Medicine base. After that we came back, cooked up dinner, re-hung everything and went to sleep.
