Our honeymoon was long overdue and so we decided to take it in Glacier National Park where we could spend 8 days hiking, backpacking, and living in the great outdoors. These pages are full of photos and take up a bit of space so it is broken up by day except for the fairly boring first day. Click on the links to see the next day.
The big event for Day 1 was me making personal aviation history by climbing aboard a Fokker F28, one of the smallest jets I've ever braved. We arrived in Missoula in the afternoon and set about finding some white gas, a canister of bear spray, a tarp, groceries, and dinner. It was getting around 6 p.m. by this time and we departed for Glacier hoping to get to the park before dark. We managed to arrive at West Glacier at about 9:15 p.m., drove into Fish Camp and got setup very quickly. We took a short walk to the shores of Lake McDonald in the twilight and saw bats swooping down onto the water.
